I photographed this scene on my fall 2025 trip to Zion National Park. While wandering the washes on the east side of the park, I found an interesting area with partially dried mud sprinkled with ash leaves from a nearby tree that I had photographed on the previous year’s trip. It took a while to find a composition amongst the chaos, but I love how the warm leaves pair with the cool tones from light reflected from the blue sky overhead. This was one of my favorite photos from that trip.
