I photographed this scene on my fall 2013 trip to Zion National Park. It was an odd year for fall color, and most of the trees throughout the park were well past prime color before I arrived, but this oak was showing some beautiful color. I took this photo just after it finished raining, but before the sun came out. The rain helped to deepen the color of the leaves and the foreground moss.
