I photographed this scene on my spring of 2025 backpacking trip to the canyons of southern Utah. This was my fourth consecutive year backpacking into this canyon, and I’ve long admired this area with these tall grasses set against a wall of sandstone. I tried to photograph it the year before, but the wind was too strong. On this visit, I decided to photograph it in the calm of morning.
