I photographed this scene on my winter 2025 trip to Death Valley National Park. While descending an alluvial fan on my way back to my truck, I found this dead desert holly deep in the shade along the edge of the wash. I set up my camera one last time on this trip, and exposed my final sheet of film on this subject.
