I photographed this scene on my winter 2022 trip to Death Valley National Park. I found this very interesting area of dried mud on my first day, but was unsure on how best to photograph it. I returned to this subject on the final day of my trip, and exposed this sheet of film when the setting sun was partially obstructed by the horizon.

This photo was taken on Fuji Provia 100F transparency film with a Fujinon A 240mm f/9.0 lens on an Arca-Swiss F Metric view camera.
