I photographed this scene on my winter 2018 visit to Death Valley National Park. A large winter storm swept through the region during my visit, leaving a lot of moisture in the soil and the air. I took this photo on the evening of day 4 as the last bit of sunlight graced the mountains in the background. I was amazed at how fast the sun's last rays advanced up the nearly one-mile tall mountain.
