I photographed this scene on my spring 2023 backpacking trip to the canyons of Southern Utah. In the weeks before my arrival, a significant spring storm swept through the region, depositing fresh mud throughout the canyon. I was fascinated by this scene with two rocks, one of which was partially buried while another stood watch nearby.
