I photographed this scene on my spring 2023 backpacking trip to the canyons of southern Utah. It was my second year visiting this canyon, and on my first visit the year before, I tried to photograph this scene, but that attempt was foiled by clouds that disrupted the warm reflected light. When I retuned one year later, it was my goal to photograph this scene. Although there were some clouds when I set up this composition, they dissipated close to sunset, and I was treated to some wonderfully warm light with calm wind.
