I photographed this scene on my winter 2024 trip to Death Valley National Park. Although this wasn’t my first visit to this canyon, it was my first time returning to it after a significant winter storm. Notice how the floor of the canyon has been reworked by recent flooding, and still contains moisture. These white rocks were a new arrival since my previous visit. They tumbled down a nearby slope. I liked the visual contrast between the white rocks and the dark canyon floor.
