I photographed this scene on a November 2024 visit to Coyote Buttes North in Arizona. It was an incredibly windy day, and much of the morning was spent sheltering from the strong gusts and wind-blown sand. Toward the afternoon and early evening, there were enough moments of calm for me to compose this image of the sandstone and expose a single sheet of film.
