I photographed this scene on my winter 2019 trip to Death Valley National Park. I loved this section of cracked mud, and took this photo just as the sun was about to drop below Panamint Mountains to the west. I loved the soft play of the shadows on cracked mud, and how the edges of the mud reflected the last rays of sunlight.
