I photographed this scene on my winter 2020 trip to Death Valley National Park. I found this scene early on my first day in the park, then returned in the early afternoon to set up my camera for an evening photo. This proved to be a rather difficult scene to meter, but thankfully I made all the right decisions and the clouds cooperated that morning.
