This is one of the first photos I've taken on large format, and it remains one of my favorites. This was taken on a February 2009 trip to the Colorado Plateau in a slot canyon called Buckskin Gulch.
Though the image feels very warm because of the reflected light, it was about 20 degrees when I took this photo. I loved the desert varnish on the background wall, and the bush in the foreground to anchor the scene.
This photo was taken on 4x5 Velvia 50 film color slide film.
