I photographed this scene on my fall 2025 trip to Zion National Park. I’ve long admired this twisted ponderosa pine located high on a wind-swept ridge. I first tried to photograph it in 2011 with a panoramic camera, but wasn’t satisfied with the harsh sunset lighting. When I returned on my 2025 visit, my goal was to photograph it in the subdued morning light. Thankfully the wind was calm during the long exposure.
