I photographed this scene on my spring 2016 visit to Capitol Reef National Park. Earlier that morning, the rain turned to snow, and I drove all over in search of a subject. Eventually I found myself at the Capitol Gorge area, and used my long lens to frame this scene.

After taking this photo, I took the lens off my camera, only to see that the rear element was completely fogged. I thought this photo was a lost cause, but somehow it still turned out. The rear element must not have been fogged when I made the exposure.
